Welcome to Purax Feather Holdings
Established in 1934 during the Great Depression, Purax Feather Holdings has maintained its roots as a locally operated business.
For over 50 years, it has been proudly owned by the Katsios family. Bill Katsios began his journey at the factory while attending school and eventually became the full owner. After four decades of leadership, he passed the business to his children, ensuring its continuity.
Purax Feather Holdings has supplied feather and down products to retailers nationally and internationally for nearly 90 years. Since the mid-90s, the range has expanded to include wool quilts, underblankets, and pillows.
The company remains committed to producing high-quality, durable products that are ethically sourced and proudly Australian-made.
Ethical Sourcing
Purax Feather Holdings is dedicated to ethical sourcing practices for its feather and down products, ensuring transparency and sustainability across its supply chain. Duck feather and down used by Purax are sourced locally in Victoria, Australia, certified as by-products from a regional farm. This not only supports local agriculture but also upholds stringent ethical standards, ensuring animal welfare and environmental sustainability are prioritised.

Similarly, for goose feather and down, Purax Feather Holdings maintains it's commitment to ethical sourcing by obtaining certification from reputable suppliers in China. This ensures humane treatment of geese and adherence to international ethical standards. By partnering with certified suppliers, Purax ensures its products meet high-quality standards while promoting responsible sourcing practices globally.
